Indian stock markets Sensex and Nifty closed at record peaks on Monday with BSE Sensex and NSE Nifty closing at respective all-time highs following the upmove in the shares of ICICI Bank, Reliance Industries, SBI and Axis Bank. The S&P BSE Sensex closed at 37,691.89, up 135.73 points or 0.36% and NSE Nifty 50 finished at 11,387.10, up 26.30 points or 0.23% with 7 of 11 sectors of National Stock Exchange concluding in green with Nifty PSU Bank rising over 2%.
The domestic stock markets traded higher in the afternoon deals on Monday with BSE Sensex hovering near 37,700 and NSE Nifty trading above 11,400. Indian equities inched up after starting higher on Monday with BSE Sensex breaching 37,800. NSE Nifty surpassing the psychological mark of 11,400 for the first time in stock market history.
Shares of HDFC AMC marked a blockbuster stock market debut on Monday and listed at 58% premium from the issue price fixed during its IPO (initial public offering). The stock of HDFC AMC 67.54% to a day’s high of Rs 1,842.95 on BSE. The stock advanced 67.64% to a day’s top of Rs 1,844 on NSE.
