India’s stock markets finished flat in a choppy trade on Tuesday with the key equity indices Sensex and Nifty just managing to end at fresh closing record highs. BSE Sensex settled at 38,285.75, up 0.02% while NSE Nifty concluded at 11,570.9, up 0.17%. Shares of Coal India (up 2.06%), Axis Bank (up 1.92%), NTPC (up 1.7%), Sun Pharma (up 1.69%), Wipro (up 1.48%) and Reliance Industries (up 0.94%) were the lead gainers while stocks of Tata Steel (down 2.86%), HUL (down 1.3%), Vedanta (down 1.17%), M&M (down 1.12%), Bharti Airtel (down 0.72%) and Yes Bank (down 0.72%) were the major losers among the components of Sensex.
Shares of Kajaria Ceramics, CESC were the top gainers while HDIL, Redington, DLF were the top losers amid the ‘A’ group of BSE. Indian shares started higher on Tuesday with BSE Sensex breaching 38,400 for the first time ever and NSE Nifty hitting a fresh record high at 11,581.75. The domestic share markets fell off from the day’s top within minutes of trading following the subdued global cues as worries remain over trade tariff muddle between US and China.
